The Namvela
approach to
insights and
growth
We apply a highly collaborative approach to facilitating projects with our clients, using best in class methodologies and specialised consultants under the Namvela umbrella. We have a wide ranging local network of data collectors who we mobilise as needed across Southern and East Africa. We are able to support clients from research inception and crafting of research questions, through to ethical submissions, data collection, analysis and dissemination, including publication in peer-reviewed journals.

We work as a learning partner to several of our clients, designing end to end research, monitoring and evaluation strategies, systems and processes.
We also have affiliations with a number of academic institutions, enabling us to support clients with publishing research and evidence as well as extensive experience with IRB submissions to support research with vulnerable populations.
The 5-Step
Namvela
Process

Discovery
Key document and data scoping to determine project parameters, target audiences and critical questions.

Ideation
Co-creation workshops to define the problem and identify an appropriate methodology to answer research questions or develop insights.

Implementation
Participatory & gender-responsive on-the-ground or online data collection and analysis.

Interpretation
Synthesise and analyse data.
Co-create meaning and recommendations with the client.

Dissemination
Generate internal and external facing learning products, and support peer-reviewed publishing (where appropriate).
Research &
Evaluation
-
Research, Monitoring and Evaluation StrategyWe conduct monitoring and evaluation health checks, alongside co-creation workshops with clients to design both monitoring and evaluation frameworks and processes, and to develop pragmatic study designs for key learning questions.
-
Qualitative ResearchWe conduct high quality qualitative research with a diverse range of our clients' audiences, from CEO's in London to adolescent girls in rural Zambia. We draw on a range of disciplines and frameworks within our qualitative work, including grounded theory approaches, anthropology, behavioural science, human-centred design and gender-sensitive methods. We use a rigorous approach to qualitative analysis using digital softwares, and conduct thorough synthesis processes.
-
Quantitative ResearchOur specialist epidemiologists are able to apply a range of quantitative analysis methods to answer critical programatic questions. Examples include geospatial mapping, multi-regression analysis and interrupted time series analysis. They are also able to support clients in the design of appropriate study designs including Randomised Controlled Trials (RCTs) and quasi-experimental study designs.
-
Programme EvaluationsWe specialise in combining methods from implementation science and outcome evaluations in order to assess impact as well as to answer questions of 'why' and 'how.' We have extensive experience in applying the OECD framework as well as a number of Implementation Science Frameworks including RE-AIM, PRISM & CFIR.
